Coral Line by: Nick, Nicole, Ashley & Nicky Macarchuk

Coral Type: Branching

Coral species: Montipora digitata

Note: you will notice the growth rate has gone down for this line, and from the photo at 3 months you can see the corals are noticeably smaller. It appears that something is eating the tips of the fragments growing here, possibly a parrotfish. We will put a gopro down on the nursery to get a better idea of what is going on! All lines of this species have experienced the same negative growth, but all lines show a good survival rate. Some of the bigger frags seem to have grown nicely though so we will keep a special eye on those!

Coral Line by: Danny & Regina

Coral Type: Branching

Coral species: Montipora digitata

Note: When this line was measured at 3 months we discovered the size of the fragments had actually gone down.. we were pretty confused until we had a closer look which revealed something has been munching on your line! We suspect parrotfish are the culprit, nibbling off the tips of your little corals. We will put a gopro down on the nursery to find out what's going on! The good news is that all the fragments are still alive - we hope they will grow bigger in the future! It is actually the same for all lines of this species.
