Coral Line by: The Foxes

Coral Type: Digitate

Coral species: Acropora humilis

Note: You will notice no bars at the 3 month mark on the below graph. This is because, unfortunately, this line did not survive. The cause of mortality was the 2016 El Nino event which caused a rise in sea surface temperatures in April and May. The corals are sensitive to any change in conditions, and unfortunately nit was too much for the frags on this line. The majority of small frags that were recently planted suffered the same, whilst some of the bigger, older lines surived. To learn more about the El Nino's effects on the reef, head to our bleaching page, stay tuned for a full update on nursery survival, or email the project manager at deborah.burn@gili-lankanfushi.com
